9-12th grade      Prerequisite: None      .5 CTE Credit

This introductory course covers basic shop skills, safety and tool use. Students will learn principles of engine operation, construction and the differences between common engine types. Complete disassembly and reassembly of a small gasoline engine, identification of mechanical components of an engine and the use of precision measuring tools is an essential part of this course.

9-12th grade      Prerequisite: Intro to Power Mechanics with a C or better     .5 CTE Credit

This intermediate auto course continues the study of basic shop skills, safety and tool use. Students will learn principles of vehicle maintenance and service and an overview of the many systems found on today’s automobiles and light trucks. Students will learn the proper use of shop equipment and tools, which are commonly found in the automotive repair industry. Vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles is an essential part of this course.

10-12th grade      Prerequisite: Auto Tech I with a C or better      .5 CTE Credit

Auto Tech II is an advanced course continuing the study of basic shop skills, safety and tool use. Students will perform vehicle maintenance, service and repair of vehicles. An in-depth study of the many systems found on today’s automobiles and light trucks will also be covered. Students will learn the proper use of shop equipment and tools which are commonly found in the automotive repair industry. Actual inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles is an essential part of this course.

10-12th grade      Prerequisite: Auto Tech II with a C or better      .5 CTE Credit

Auto Tech III is an advanced course building on the study of shop skills, safety, and tool use. Students will perform vehicle maintenance, service, and repair of vehicles. An in-depth study of the many systems found in today’s automobiles and light trucks will also be covered. Students will learn the proper use of shop equipment and tools which are commonly found in the automotive repair industry. Advanced inspection, maintenance, and repair of vehicles are essential parts of this course.

11-12th grade      Prerequisite: Auto Tech III with a C or better      .5 CTE Credit

Designed for students who are interested in furthering their knowledge via self-paced, individualized, directed instruction provided in selected areas to be arranged with the instructor. Students who completed 1.0 credits of Auto II should pre-register for Auto IV.

This course is designed for students who are interested in furthering their knowledge via selfpaced, individualized, directed instruction provided in selected areas to be arranged with instructor. Varying modes of instruction are used: laboratory, research skill development, and apprenticeships.
